I love Malayers. The exciting range of designs, the attractive dye materials, the firm yet soft nature of their weave.. I find they combine the best of all worlds, the finesse of professional workshop carpets and the charm and spontaneity of tribal rugs. In this case, we add a vital element of rarity and that is the very desirable size. Usually for such a length of 3.5 meters the width would not go beyond 1.8 meters yet in this case we have a very harmonious width of 2.6 meters. Sublime.
The all over boteh field allows it to fit in easily in any setting. The blue border is among the best that has been ever made.
I first met Dr. Maktabi as a lecturer on carpet history and was captivated by his passion for the subject.
