This Mishan rug is among the finest Malayer weaves I have seen. Artistically it is in a class of its own. Geometrically rendered trees cover the field in a symmetric way. The signature touch however is the rather fuzzy nature by which branches and flowers are drawn. It is as if the weaver travelled 100 years forward in time and read Benoit Mandelbrot's seminal ๐๐ง๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ก ๐๐๐ค๐ข๐๐ฉ๐ง๐ฎ. In other news a serene sky blue border envelopes the saffron yellow field--another triumph for the Mishan masters of natural dyeing. A collector's piece without a shadow of a doubt.

You can't only be a customer of Hadi Maktabi. While his main purpose is rug dealing, he starts with story telling and ends with history selling. That's what I call high-end art curating and closing it all with an entertaining friendship. George El Hani, CEO Levica, Lebanon ๐ฑ๐ง
