Silk base Senneh rugs were definitely the finest to be woven in the 19th century in terms of knot count--to the extent that many people think they belonged on table tops rather than on the floor. This handsome example stands out for its border and its slender flower cartouches whose forms break the monotony of the Mahi corners and whose colors rhyme with the Saraband field within.
