A battle weary survivor from one of the two oldest cities in the world but one whose recent history has been scarred and bruised by war. This is a miniature prayer rug, woven as a kilim, from Aleppo. The finesse of workmanship is astounding really, giving the impression it was woven with camel hair rather than wool (which doesn't seem to be the case). A great rarity.
